MySpace on-the-go user profile
“The functionality will become available at some point in the coming weeks to both users and third-party sites. At the core will be privacy and security controls so that users retain tight control over what data they share and in which site.”
However, it’s difficult to see how that’ll be reliably achieved given that ultimately, all these data are in the hands of the corporations running the sites. The good part is, myspace will allow users to control what information can be shared.

MySpace Karaoke
MySpace is set to launch a new feature named MySpace Karaoke today to its Social networking service.
MySpace co-founder and President Tom Anderson spoke about this new feature addition: “It is in part because music is so popular on our site. But also because karaoke is such a fun and social thing, which is what we’re about too. It’s not as much fun to go to karaoke alone, but when you do it through the Internet or on your MySpace page, then you can share it with people.”
Users would be able to upload audio recordings of them singing popular songs on the service to their accounts. Continue Reading »

MySpace: Safety Tips
MySpace makes it easy to express yourself, connect with friends and make new ones, but please remember that what you post publicly could embarrass you or expose you to danger. Here are some common sense guidelines that you should follow when using MySpace:
Don’t forget that your profile and MySpace forums are public spaces. Don’t post anything you wouldn’t want the world to know (e.g., your phone number, address, IM screens name, or specific whereabouts). Avoid posting anything that would make it easy for a stranger to find you, such as where you hang out every day after school.
People aren’t always who they say they are. Be careful about adding strangers to your friends list. It’s fun to connect with new MySpace friends from all over the world, but avoid meeting people in person whom you do not fully know. If you must meet someone, do it in a public place and bring a friend or trusted adult.
Harassment, hate speech and inappropriate content should be reported. If you feel someone’s behavior is inappropriate, react. Talk with a trusted adult, or report it to MySpace or the authorities.
Don’t mislead people into thinking that you’re older or younger. If you lie about your age, MySpace will delete your profile.
Be sure to use MySpace Tracker!

Myspace music on your iPod
First navigate to Myspace.Com. Browse the music section for the Artist of your choice.
Every band profile has a Flash mp3 player. Each artist/band decides whether or not to have there music accesible to the public for download.
Go to the music player and click on the download link, it will prompt you to save to your computer. After saving it remember the folder you stored it in, Now open up i-Tunes and drag and drop your song into your i-Pod. That’s it!

MySpace Tip: Scrollable Content Areas
Scrollable content areas are probably the best invention since the light bulb. They allow you to specify an area that can be filled with any type of content, and then scrolled through.

MySpace to Enter into China
MySpace, a popular social networking website operated by the world’s largest media and entertainment company News Corp., announced on April 26 that it is going to make a China foray soon after a long-period investigation on the Chinese market. I think that myspace might be able to grab good number of market share in China and it might become popular their too.

How do I delete my myspace account?
Tip of the month:
If you wish to permanently terminate your MySpace account, start by clicking “Home” in the top navigation menu from any MySpace web page. From your personal home page, click the “Account Settings” next to your default picture. From your “Change Account Settings” page, click the “Cancel Account” link, found just above the “My Account Settings”. On the “Cancel My Account” page, click the “Cancel My Account” button. Check the email account that you used to create your account.
Follow the instructions in that email to delete your account. Keep in mind, cancelling your MySpace account will PERMANENTLY REMOVE all of your profile information from MySpace, including your photographs, comments, blogs, and your personal network of friends. This information cannot be restored. You may re-register with your current email address after canceling, but you will need to rebuild your personal network from scratch.

Warning: Myspace.com Trojaned QuickTime Worm
MySpace users beware! It seems that Internet villains have discovered yet another way to take advantage of your favorite social networking site. While browsing my daily list of reads this morning, I stumbled on this post on the Full Disclosure mailing list describing how an attacker can take advantage of Myspace’s navigation menu to gain possession of your login credentials. They can either make quicktime worm or fake login page. Do NOT give your password to other than myspace.com. Check in the address bar to confirm its myspace.com as a domain.

STOP BLAMING MYSPACE
Anybody happen to catch Nightline couple days ago on ABC?
In case you didn’t, one of the hot topics discussed was MySpace.
It is no secret to anyone who reads the newspaper or watches the 6 o’clock news that MySpace has been in the limelight because of “sexual predators” trying to “abduct and corrupt” the youth of the world.
I think people just finding ways to blame myspace and trying to show how bad it is.
